Market In Turmoil
American Stock Market Shows Signs of Economic Uncertainty
The American market has been particularly unsteady recently, as concerns rise about the country’s economic future. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq suffered their largest decreases of the year so far, declining almost 10% from their mid-February highs (NYT). This decline follows President Trump’s declaration of tariffs he plans to implement on Canada, Mexico, China, and the European Union, among others. Canada and the EU have responded with tariffs of their own, suggesting a potential trade war on the horizon. Some hope that Trump’s tariffs will boost profits for American companies; the automobile and metal industries, for example, currently have considerable competition from manufacturers overseas. Others warn, however, that the average American consumer will be forced to pick up the additional costs. So far the tariffs don’t seem to be set in stone, as Trump has already decided to repeal or delay certain tariff decisions. Markets will likely continue to fluctuate until the situation calms down.

Ocala Office Sponsors Inaugural Children's Charity Classic
At the end of February, our Ocala and Villages offices were honored to sponsor of the Inaugural Children’s Charity Classic hosted by United Way of Marion County. Held under the stadium lights of the iconic HITS Post Time Farm of Ocala, adult amateur riders and junior riders teamed up with 10 local non-profit charities that would be benefiting from the event. Each team was assigned a book theme, creatively dressing their rider and horse to match, before competing in a series of challenges and races - all in the name of raising funds for their paired charity. Thanks to the incredible support from the community, the event raised nearly $100,000! This was directly distributed to these organizations so they can continue their impactful work throughout Marion County, supporting children in need and focusing on their education, health, and financial stability – the building blocks for a child’s quality of life!
Tax Shelter Workshop for Business Owners
On March 11, the Reveille office in Peachtree City held a Tax Shelter Workshop for local business owners. Managing Partner Stephen Weitzel presented on how to optimize your Qualified Business Income Deduction to help maximize your tax-deductible retirement contributions.
