Pavlov Gets New Dog

Old Habits Die Hard
Ivan Pavlov, famed behavioral psychologist, is best known for his work in the field of classical conditioning. Pavlov found that by ringing a bell before feeding a dog, the dog learned to associate the bell with food. The dog then began to salivate any time he heard the bell, whether there was food present or not.
In our latest white paper, Managing Partner Stephen Weitzel compares the behavior of today’s investors to that of Pavlov’s dogs. Like the dogs, investors have been conditioned by years of positive reinforcement to always expect a certain outcome. They have been trained to think that because certain asset classes have been successful for so long, they will continue to be successful. How many times will investors have to be disappointed before they unlearn this mindset?
Stephen Weitzel explores this idea in Reveille’s newest white paper, Pavlov’s New Dog. The full paper is now available to read on our website.
Market Sentiment Survey
Our company recently sponsored a golf tournament supporting our local chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). During the tournament, we took a survey of participants as they visited our tent to understand the market sentiment amongst our friends and neighbors. The results were definitive. Most people were optimistic about the direction of both the stock market (up!), and the direction of interest rates (down!). One could speculate a myriad of explanations for the results (local economy, politics, etc.), but the reality is that our neighbors are hopeful for the near future. The best part for us at Reveille? We don't have to speculate. We follow our process with confidence, regardless of what the markets throw at us.

Around The Office
An Evening Under The Sea
This year’s Bloom Ball was fin-tastic! Reveille was a returning sponsor for this wonderful fundraiser, and we had a great time spending the evening at the Georgia Aquarium. Throughout the course of the night, over $400,000 was raised to benefit foster children and families across Georgia. Thank you to Bloom and the Georgia Aquarium for putting on such a great event - we were glad to be a part of it.

Ocala CEP Luncheon
Stephanie Martin and Christopher Hill had the opportunity to attend and speak at the Ocala and Marion County Chamber & Economic Partnership Bi-Annual Luncheon! It’s always a pleasure to gather with local leaders and gain valuable insight into the growth and development of our community. We’re looking forward to reconnecting and continuing the conversation at the October luncheon!

Tournaments For A Cause
Spring is here, which means golf tournament season is upon us! At the end of April, Reveille proudly sponsored the Château Élan Military Support Foundation Charity Golf Tournament. This month we’ve had the privilege of sponsoring and participating in the Advo-Kids CASA and Fayette Fellowship of Christian Athletes charity tournaments. We’re glad to support these admirable causes and to give back to our community.
