Helping individuals, families and business owners pursue their goals is Stephen’s highest priority. A passionate student of the financial markets and a Certified Financial Planner™ professional, he is adept at explaining the nuances of wealth management to clients in a way that’s easily understood.
“I have the opportunity to make a quantifiable difference in someone’s life, which I find very rewarding,” Stephen says. “As a team, we want clients to not only gain a better understanding of the markets, but also to become more aware of cognitive biases that can lead to poor investment decisions.”
Stephen serves on the Investment Committee and is a Portfolio Management Director for the team’s Rules-Based Investment Discipline model portfolios. As one of its architects, his role includes everything from analyzing prevailing market conditions to making changes to various model portfolio allocations. He was named to the Forbes Next-Gen Best-In-State Wealth Advisors list in 2019 and 2022.
In 2021, he helped establish Reveille Wealth Management and affiliated with Raymond James. Before that, Stephen served as a Portfolio Management Director for the Reveille Group at Morgan Stanley for seven years, helping to oversee the team’s investment strategies. His background also includes roles at Merrill Lynch and Banc of America Investment Services. After earning a B.S. in Management from Georgia Tech, he became an advisor in 2006. He felt the combination of building investment portfolios and working with people was a perfect fit for him.
Stephen believes in paying it forward. He and his wife, Courtney, started an athletic scholarship in 2018 to benefit a member of the Georgia Tech football team. Born and raised in Atlanta, Stephen lives in Peachtree City, Georgia. He and his wife have three children, Ben, Evie and Ella. In his free time, Stephen enjoys playing golf, traveling and going to sporting events, especially Georgia Tech games.

*SHOOK Research considered advisors born in 1980 or later with a minimum of four years’ relevant experience. Advisors have built their own practices and lead their teams; joined teams and are viewed as future leadership; or a combination of both. Ranking algorithm is based on qualitative measures derived from telephone and in-person interviews and surveys: service models, investing process, client retention, industry experience, review of compliance records, firm nominations, etc.; and quantitative criteria, such as assets under management and revenue generated for their firms. Investment performance is not a criteria because client objectives and risk tolerances vary, and advisors rarely have audited performance reports. Rankings are based on the opinions of SHOOK Research, LLC. Neither SHOOK nor Forbes receives compensation from the advisors or their firms in exchange for placement on a ranking. Raymond James is not affiliated with Forbes or Shook Research, LLC. This ranking is not indicative of an advisor’s future performance, is not an endorsement, and may not be representative of an individual client’s experience. Out of 6,389 advisors considered, 1,489 made the final list in 2019. For more information, see SHOOKresearch.com. Raymond James is not affiliated with any organizations mentioned.
