Trump's Big Beautiful Bill Signed Into Law
On July 4th, 2025, President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” was officially signed into law. This controversial piece of legislation touts big ticket items such as boosts to defense spending and cuts to programs like Medicaid and Snap. However, there are other, less flashy areas of the Bill that could have an impact on you and your financial goals. Some of the most notable points include senior deductions, state and local tax deductions, estate exemptions, and Trump accounts.
The Big Beautiful Bill introduces new senior deductions of up to $6000. The bill also raises the state and local tax deductions (SALT) from $10,000 to $40,000, and immortalizes the 2017 estate exemptions while simultaneously increasing them to $15 million per person. Additionally, the Bill introduces “Trump Accounts” for children, which allow for contributions up until a child turns 18. For children born between certain dates, the federal government will make a one-time contribution of $1000.
In our recent Reveille Review video, Managing Partner Stephen Weitzel goes over these four points in more detail – click here to watch. And be sure to subscribe to Reveille’s YouTube channel to catch our upcoming video dedicated to breaking down the Big Beautiful Bill.
