AI Craze Continues
Artificial Intelligence and the Market
The use of artificial intelligence is growing at a rapid rate, a fact which continues to be reflected in the markets. Companies are racing to implement AI into their everyday operations in an attempt to stay ahead of the game; Google, for example, recently introduced their AI Search Mode as a direct competitor to ChatGPT. They recently reported higher-than-expected earnings and attributed part of that success to AI. Shares rose accordingly. Of course, AI giant Nvidia continues to shine – this month, the chip maker became the first public company to close above $4 trillion market cap. For context, this is larger than the market capitalization of the London Stock Exchange, which contains more than 1900 companies! The S&P closed at a record high that same day. Heavy spending on AI technologies by the industry's largest names has been a major component in this continued uptrend. (Yahoo Finance) But how long can we expect it to continue? Maybe more importantly, how will this new technology ultimately manifest itself in our daily lives?
Reveille recently hosted artificial intelligence expert Warren Hearnes on our Bugle Notes podcast, where we picked his brain about all things AI. Tune in on our YouTube channel as Warren walks through defining AI, how people should be using it, and how it could affect our society.
